I Should Go

My eyes must unsee
False hope and regret.
Before we lose our sanity
I should go…

My hands must unlock your grip
Know a freedom of their own.
Before we pull back into embrace
I should go…

My body must unlearn
A home it once knew.
Before we cross the line
I should go…

WHEN YOUR HEART IS BREAKING

When your heart is breaking

Oh the moonlight knows too well

To have serenaded, yet been rejected

Sent away with midnight blues

When your heart is breaking

Oh the moonlight knows too well

To watch the one you love, love another

Desperately yearn for another

When your heart is breaking

Oh the moonlight knows too well

For he chased the sea and drowned in pain

Watching her gentle waves embrace the lighthouse

Virtuoso

themuse_olivermeyer_webitorial_6

I tell you,

He inspired her art

There’s something about pain

Though a wall shields her heart,

It birthed a virtuoso from her bane.

She performs,

It’s him she wants observing

Every note louder, gestures immaculate,

He left her hurting and uncertain

Unaware of a masterpiece he was to create.

Virtuoso,

Listen, how she belts out!

Her words, they inspire,

The rules, she will flout

She entrances, and he can’t help but admire.

Virtuoso,

Rain on her compliments

She impresses with little effort,

But in her, he planted deep sentiments

Raw, beautiful art is her reward.

I RODE MY BICYCLE

I rode my bicycle
It was quite a ride
I let out my basket
Scattering broken promises.

I rode on, quite a distance
The thoughts vexed me
Palpitating, I had no care,
But a broken heart to bury in those woods

I rode, undeterred.
By the scampering squirrels, and rattling sounds
Lump in throat, and red-flushed eyes
Escaping reality.

I rode, I rode fervently
Till it had come to an end
My bicycle gave up on me
The cue to start the sniveling.

So there lay a bicycle
Next to it, I, pouring my heart out
They stared at me, those eyes in the woods
Feeling pity for me, from a distance

I rode a bicycle
With a basket of your false promises
I left them dispersed in the woods,
Taking back my broken heart, to mend.

LOST CAUSE – THE BROKENHEARTED’S LETTER

Beautiful was you and I,

Beautiful we shall forever be.

Amazing how time changes feelings sometimes,

But the love went sour; it’s too obvious not to see

It’s a lost cause, it’s a lost cause.

Memories to be kept forever,

Like the times you made me smile

Is it possible to move on ever?

What doesn’t help is being apart so so many miles,

It’s a lost cause, it’s a lost cause

Loving something that was never yours in the first place hurts.

The end to the fairytale is already known.

Seeing you distance yourself, what can I do but fret?

Maybe it’s not worth it after all, I hate being in this zone, all alone.

It’s a lost cause, it’s a lost cause.

These pretty eyes have cried out for you,

This heart of mine wants not to be broken

So my goodbye to you is due.

Surely I’ll miss you and remember the good times

I hope I haven’t lost a friend, and my smile and love is what I leave behind.
